Gravitating back sonically to her previous work, Claudia also stretches her song writing further, both melodically and lyrically.
‘In My Head’, the latest single, is an upbeat track about a breakup. At the same time, it reflects on the fact that we decide over what thoughts – and demons – we let into our heads and lives. The video for the song references the iconic tea party scene from Alice in Wonderland.

On June 27th, Pierre De Frebourg released ‘Mon Général’.
Pierre says, “Beautiful sunny day in Paris. I had a mission for my friend Hugues, forced to reduced mobility. It was a question of transporting him to the place of his appointment for a consultation in a clinic on the 16th arrondissement from Avenue Gambetta… No choice but to do it by car. An incredible and stressful obstacle course like millions of Ile-de-France residents do every day in an ugly and dirty Paris with an incomprehensible traffic plan… An obstacle course between erratic concrete blocks, tasteful plastic ‘yellow idiots’, ‘respectful users of the highway code’ on scooters and bicycles that spring up in all directions, the forced ‘zig-zags’ between bus lanes…
Wacky idea: I imagined Charles de Gaulle in his presidential DS being driven by his chauffeur through this orchestrated ‘bazaar of the town hall’. Getting out of the car he would surely have exclaimed: “Paris outraged, Paris broken, Paris martyred”… Back in my home studio, it inspired me. ‘Mon Général’ is an echo of the now famous hashtag #SaccageParis.”
Pierre has a website, at pdefrebourg.com, and is on Spotify, Instagram and Facebook.
The Too Late released ‘Psychological Warfare’ on June 29th.
‘Psychological Warfare’ narrates the story of heartbreak; a constant mental battle during relationships when you fear that you are not good enough for someone, waiting for the inevitable moment for your lover to leave. When the dust settles, and the realisation kicks in that you will never be with that person you loved dearly, you can find peace in the good times you had and that these moments won’t be forgotten. The song strikes a chord with old and young listeners alike; whether it’s your first love or remorse for a family member that is no longer with you. The Too Late convey this message perfectly with a stripped back, ballad production brought together with subtle hints of electronic elements which help drive the song.
Glaswegians, Connor Magennis and Ryan Clark join forces to make the talented indie/pop duo, The Too Late. Both band members complement each other to bring a strong and instantly recognisable vocal delivery to some beautiful, fresh and relatable lyrics, which is encased with vibrant melodic guitar riffs.
‘Psychological Warfare’ is the band’s 4th release and serves as the 2nd release from their upcoming EP. (We heard ‘One Hit Love’ in Week 50, June 8th 2022.) On June 29th Momma released ‘Motorbike’.
Brooklyn-based band Momma – led by singers/guitarists Etta Friedman and Allegra Weingarten – have released their latest anthemic earworm ’Motorbike’. It is the final single ahead of July 1st release of their highly anticipated new album ‘Household Name’. We’ve previously heard ‘Rockstar’ (Week 43, April 2022) and ‘Medicine’ (Week 30, January 2022) which are also on this album.
On ‘Motorbike’ Momma is accompanied by an Emma Penrose. Zack Shorrosh directed the video, which mirrors the song’s themes of romantic fantasy.
Allegra explains, “I wrote this song about a boy I had a crush on who really wanted nothing to do with me. The song is basically just fantasy – even though it’s about a real person, it’s also about how we can make up elaborate ideas of who other people are in our heads, and get so caught up in these fake scenarios that they kind of end up feeling real. I wanted the song to feel like you’re escaping something, because my daydreams about this boy and his motorcycle were definitely an escape from my life at the time.”
Momma are on Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube.
