Oxymorrons released ‘Graveyard Words’ on 21st June.
Boundary-pushing, punk band Oxymorrons are thrilled to announce their highly anticipated album, ‘Melanin Punk’. It will drop on October 20th via Mascot Records. Accompanying the announcement comes the project’s electrifying third single, ‘Graveyard Words’. This boasts more of the band’s diverse influences and innovative musicality.
‘Graveyard Words’ merges the captivating sounds of drum and bass with nods to the unique vibe of Turnstile meshed in with a little bit of Kid Cudi. In an audacious exploration of their musical inspirations, Oxymorrons have again dared to create something entirely fresh and crafted a track that breaks free from conventions.
When asked about the inspiration behind ‘Graveyard Words’, Oxymorrons collectively explained, “It’s about speaking with intentions. Words carry weight and you can manifest positivity but also negativity with the things you say – on the extreme side of the spectrum it could cost you your life. It’s about the laws of attraction through words. The chorus sounds like a threat coming from an individual – like ‘yo watch yer mouth’ – but it was really written from the perspective of the universe/karma warning us humans. A small example is we try not to use the word ‘hate’ in our vocabulary when describing something we don’t like. We’re not always successful, but just trying to remove that word so that we don’t attract hatred into our life and leave that portal open for hate to come through. You attract what you project, and we project positivity.”
Oxymorrons have a lnk.to page, with all their down-load & pre-order links, and links to all their social media.
Suzi Quatro and KT Tunstall have teamed up to release ‘Shine a Light’.
‘Shine a Light’ is the brand new single from the album ‘Face To Face’. That is an album of original duets written by the duo, which they recorded, together, in England, with Suzi’s son, LR Tuckey, serving as producer. The record covers themes of love and loss, fear and triumph – all essential to their experiences as ground-breaking women in rock.
Suzi says, “I was a fan of KT from the first hit – liked her voice, her song writing, and her musicianship, we are indeed cut from the same cloth which is where our artistry met and flourished. A match made in heaven. We wrote ‘Shine a Light’ about recognising and allowing that ‘special’ light inside of us to shine. And, as the lyric says…’shine a light on me or let me be.’ Amen.”
KT says, “Working with Suzi has been such a beautiful flow state of friendship and creation. We work in her home, sitting on the floor, bare feet, and we talk WAY more than we write!! And then the songs just arrive so fast, like gifts from the Universe. ‘Shine a Light’ is not just about loving yourself, but also shedding those who wish to keep you down. Suzi and I shared our own stories of experiencing this, and how we’ve both learned to only let those people in who want to see good things happen for you.”
Suzi Quattro has a website, at suziquatro.com and KT Tunstall as one at kttunstall.com. The single is available from all the usual download sites, and they have a website with links to all the places where you can pre-order the album, which will be out on August 11th.
The Roadhouse Blues Band released their new single ‘By My Side’ on June 23rd.
The single is from The Roadhouse Blues Band’s début album ‘Long Time Coming’. They released that album recently on all major outlets for streaming and digital downloads as well as physical copies via their website and at gigs. With their début album, The Roadhouse Blues Band have created something that not only holds true to their blues roots but also showcases the band’s ability to introduce elements of rock, country plus rock & roll to their music without losing that original blues foundation. With this album they have created some easy to digest, foot-stomping tracks along with some memorable riffs and heartfelt themes.
‘By My Side’, the new single is a stomping, classic blues rock tune with a memorable melody reminiscent of British R&B of the late 60s & 70s.

On 23rd June, Fatal Vision released ‘Dominoes’.
June 23rd marked the triumphant return of Canadian melodic rock band Fatal Vision, with the release of their sophomore album ‘Twice’. Fatal Vision’s début album ‘Once’ re-introduced the band in 2022, and we heard ‘Haven’t We Been Here Before’ from that album back in January (2023, Week 80). This was followed by a stand-alone single, ‘Breakers’, which we heard in April (2023, Week 94)
‘Twice’ shows Fatal Vision continuing to delve into a rich tapestry of sounds both familiar and modern. The thirteen tracks nod to Fatal Vision’s key influences, including Survivor and REO Speedwagon.
About Dominoe, frontman Simon Marwood, says “This was a song I wrote about a crowd of people who would get together every Friday night somewhere, as it says “outside the city” to rave, basically. Many of them would hook up with other people there, all of them looking for something they might find, and might not.”
The band will be playing at Lamoureux Park, Cornwall on August 14th. They will then be touring in Europe and Japan before returning to the UK in March 2024. Details are on their website, which is at fatalvisionmusic.ca. They are also on TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Insta, Apple Music, Twitter and Spotify.
The Kut released ‘Runaways’ on June 23rd.
The Kut is back with her latest single ‘Runaways’. Written around a rolling bassline, it’s a feel-good track about spending the summer outdoors. I think we are down with that!
It’s the sixth single from her sophomore album ‘Grit’, which reached Number 1 in the Official UK Rock Albums Chart on its release.
The video, on YouTube, shares a glimpse of the frustration, determination and hopefulness of an independent band on the road. Having spent the majority of her summers on the road with her band at grassroots venues, it’s even sweeter that the record now releases on the back of major tours supporting Electric Six and Shonen Knife.
The Kut has a lnk.to page with links to her streaming, download and social media channels.

Abz Winter released ‘Wasted Energy’ on 23rd June.
Abz has already truly inserted herself as an exciting new talent in the pop world. At just 20, her style and confidence make her one of the names to watch. She knows how she wants her music to sound. She does not follow the crowd and has a new Pop-Rock style which is fresh and exciting. Abz’s voice is full of rich, powerful tones and attitude.
Abz loves performing her music live – whether it be on a big festival stage, on the TV or in a small intimate venue. She is busy working on new music with her London producer and the outcome is very exciting.
About Wasted Energy, Abz says, “The song is about me and my disastrous relationships, of which there are lots!
Life is so difficult, but at the same time, can be so enchanting – which is really confusing and just adds to the pressures of growing up. I’m not necessarily set on wanting a relationship as I am starting to get comfortable in my own skin, but at this moment, boy I am sick of always getting it wrong and wasting my time & energy!
As a 20-year-old singleton, I can do what I want when I want! This track was written in one session in the studio, and it just sort of flowed.”
